Andy Germano
Andy Germano is the Vice Chairman of the Femto Forum. As Vice Chair Andy leads the Services Special Interest Group (SIG) as well as serving as the Femto Forum liaison to 3GPP2 and the WiMAX Forum. Andy also leads the Femto Forum initiative into developing and growth markets as well as representing the Forum at industry events such as Supercomm, CTIA and CES for example.
Andy has over 22 years of Telecoms and Wireless experience including large company (Verizon, Nortel, QUALCOMM) and start-up companies (Tantivy, WiDeFi, AuthenTec, INSIDE). Andy has experience working in Engineering, Product Management, Business Development and Marketing across the Femto eco-system including: Network Operator, Infrastructure, Consumer Electronics and Semiconductor for both Wireline (Telco, ADSL) and Wireless (GSM, CDMA, WiFi) ventures.
He is a member of the IEEE Standards Association and was involved in the creation of the 802.16 standard as well as participation in several other 802 wireless standards (802.11; 802.15). Andy was also instrumental in the creation of the WWINA (Wireless Wideband InterNet Access) standard as part of T1P1 via 3GPP.
Andy has an MBA from Duke University a BS in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a BA in Mathematics from Saint Vincent College.
