David Chen, PhD
Dr. David T. Chen is a Senior Expert specializing in small cell wireless backhaul and synchronization at Nokia Siemens Networks. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the telecommunication field, including GSM, CDMA, UMTS, WiMAX, LTE, GPS, IEEE1588v2, and wireless backhaul.
Prior to joining Nokia Siemens Networks, Dr. Chen worked for Motorola Networks Advanced Technologies organization leading the investigation of cutting-edge wireless backhaul and synchronization technologies. He has also been working closely with Motorola Venture Capital and various business lines as a mergers and acquisitions technology adviser, taking care of technical due diligence assessment.
Since joining Nokia Siemens Networks, Dr. Chen is focused on 4G small cell wireless backhaul and synchronization (high sensitivity GPS, IEEE1588v2, network listen synchronization, etc.), 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, licensed and unlicensed band point-to-point/point-to-multipoint microwave radio, mesh backhaul, 60-90GHz millimeter wave radio, 2G/3G/4G cellular backhaul, and radio access network architecture and performance.
He received his BSEE from National Taiwan University and his MSEE and Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
