The ATIS Cloud Services Forum (CSF) facilitates the adoption and advancement of cloud services from a network and IT perspective. The CSF is working to ensure that cloud services – as offered by service providers – are quickly operationalized to facilitate the delivery of interoperable, secure, and managed services. To that end, the CSF has developed Content Distribution Networks (CDNs) Interconnection Use Case Specification and High Level Requirements. The standard provides an initial description of CDNs, and develops interconnection use cases and high-level requirements to support passing content distribution requests between two service providers.
During the session, the CSF leaders will offer insight into how it addresses inter-carrier needs to facilitate the adoption and advancement of cloud services, specifically:
• Key business drivers for content distribution networks interconnection (CDN-I)
• Functional components of CDNs and the CDN interconnected delivery model
• Use case scenarios and interface domains that support caching and content delivery by one service provider on behalf of another
• Common interfaces that are enabled between providers’ operations systems, back office interfaces, routing equipment and network interconnections
Although the primary service discussed will be content delivery, the CSF views CDN-I as a compilation of service enablers. Industry experts will also share their view on reusing enablers for services such as telepresence, virtual desktops, and virtual private networks.
