Femtocell-based services that leverage femtos’ inherent presence and location capabilities are being demoed and seeing a lot of activity. This panel will provide a quick overview of the current state of femtocell service APIs for application developers as well as explore the benefits of femtocell-based services compared to macro and connected home implementations. Current service deployments as well as future services, including the impact of 4G, will be discussed. Consumer perspectives will also be presented.
