Acme Packet Power Breakfast: Session Delivery Networks – Table Stakes for 4G Communications

Multiple trends, especially the shift to all-IP networks, are creating disruption and creating a more complex competitive environment. As mobile moves into the 4G era, who will own the customer wallet for communications services is up for grabs. Mobile broadband alone is not enough to satisfy subscriber demands for all voice, video and data needs. A new type of network is being built to service-enable IP infrastructure and leverage key service provider building blocks: session delivery networks (SDNs). SDNs position mobile service providers as key participants in the value chain for not just voice, but all types of IP interactive communications, bridging the gap between applications and the underlying IP transport network. This session will define the characteristics of SDNs and outline critical requirements to thrive in the 4G world.
