In this session, we examine the different NFC use cases, modes (reader/writer, peer-to-peer, card emulation), operating systems and applications, and the impact they have on NFC software architecture and development. The presentation also highlights the publicly announced NFC implementations on Symbian, Android, and Windows 8, and how a unified NFC software architecture can be used to satisfy a variety of different requirements. The presentation also covers standardization efforts by the NFC Forum to define a standard for the NFC Controller Interface.
