Jim has 17 years of market development experience identifying emerging market trends and drive entry into new markets. Jim provided leadership for several of Alcatel-Lucent’s key areas of market success broadband access and triple play. Jim is now focused on driving service break through in Alcatel-Lucent’s health care vertical. Jim is responsible for the Connected Hospital team in addition to managing the Alcatel-Lucent/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Joint Solution Development Fund. Jim leads the Smart Suite project, a joint venture between ALU and UPMC which explored surgical telementoring. Jim is providing leadership to drive the market to embrace an e-Health Sensor Networking Framework which will enable large scale adoption of telemedicine.
Jim received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He has a BA from Loyola University in Chicago, and has completed a Systems Management graduate work from the University of Southern California at the Heidelberg, Germany extension when he served as a U.S Army Officer
