Nick Johnson

CTO, ip.access

Nick has been part of ip.access since its formation in 1999 and was a major contributor to the GSM technology on which ip.access is founded.

As CTO, Nick is responsible for technology strategy and implementation at ip.access, leading technical innovation, specification and planning activities, and directing the development of the organisation’s products.

Prior to ip.access, Nick was a founding member of ip.access’ parent company TTP Communications, a world leading independent supplier of GSM technology. During this period he led numerous consultancy and development projects, and generated significant IPR in heterogeneous broadband/narrowband audio service delivery technology.

Before working at TTPCom, Nick spent several years with The Technology Partnership, the progenitor of TTPCom and the leading high technology consultancy in the Cambridge area. Prior to that he was at the prestigious Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge, building state-of-the-art receivers for radio astronomy.

Nick has a PhD in Microwave Scanned Imaging Techniques from University College, London, and a MA in Physics from the University of Cambridge.
