Prabhakar Chitrapu is a Senior Principal Engineer at InterDigital Communications in King of Prussia, PA, where he has worked since 2000. Prior to that, he was at Lockheed Martin and Dialogic Corporation. In these positions, he has contributed to various aspects of 3G/4G Cellular & WLAN Networks and published a book “Wideband TDD” (Wiley 2005), over 30 issued patents, and several research papers.
Prabhakar has been an active participant in Industry Forums, such as GSMA, UMTS Forum and Femto Forum. He held leadership positions, including Vice-Chair of WLAN-Interworking Task Force at GSMA, Vice-Chair of Working Group on Networks & Champion of Integrated Femto-WiFi Networks work item at the Femto-Forum.
Prabhakar was an Assistant Professor at Drexel University before moving to Industry. Subsequently he has continued as an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University, Villanova University and University of Pennsylvania. Prabhakar holds a PhD degree from Delft University, The Netherlands.
